Lexos Media IP Resumes Cursor Modification Campaign

Lexos Media IP, LLC, the apparent “intellectual property holding company” of Lexos Media, Inc., has resumed its sole litigation campaign with suits against Amazon (2:22-cv-00169) and Target (2:22-cv-00175) in the Eastern District of Texas. The asserted patents generally relate to cursor modification, with the defendants targeted over their respective e-commerce websites. At issue are features for displaying a zoomed section of a product image in place of the user’s cursor when it rolls over the image.

Another Wave of Suits Filed in Lexos Media’s Cursor Customization Campaign
Lexos Media IP, LLC has filed another wave of lawsuits in its cursor modification campaign. The new defendants are APMEX (2:16-cv-00747), Costco (2:16-cv-00748), Guitar Center (Musician’s Friend) (2:16-cv-00749), L Brands (Victoria’s Secret) (2:16-cv-00752), Nordstrom (2:16-cv-00750), and Saks (2:16-cv-00751). Lexos Media IP asserts two patents (5,995,102; 6,118,449) in all six new complaints, adding a third, related patent (7,111,254) in the complaints against APMEX and Victoria’s Secret. Cursor customization on the defendants’ websites is accused of infringement.

Cursor Customization Campaign Reboots in Texas Against Six Retailers
During December 2015, Lexos Media IP, LLC filed complaints against six retailers in Texas: Avon (2:15-cv-02052), Express (2:15-cv-02073), Home Depot (2:15-cv-02051), Neiman Marcus (2:15-cv-02100), REI (2:15-cv-02107), and Sears (2:15-cv-02098). All six suits assert two patents (5,995,102; 6,118,449) generally related to cursor modification against cursor customization on the defendants’ websites. The case against Avon also asserts a third, related patent (7,111,254).
