F2VS Technologies Revives Endeavor IP’s Smart Grid Campaign
On June 13, F2VS Technologies, Inc. filed its first patent infringement suits, asserting three patents (7,379,981; 8,700,749; 8,855,019) against Brocade (Ruckus Wireless) (1:17-cv-00756), HP Enterprises (Aruba Networks) (1:17-cv-00754), and Qualcomm (1:17-cv-00755) in the District of Delaware. The patents-in-suit generally relate to a network of wirelessly connected meters, and various Wi-Fi networking products, such as access points and controllers, including those offering mesh networking, are the accused products. F2VS Technologies appears to be controlled by the former CEO of Endeavor IP, Inc., a publicly traded NPE that, prior to ceasing operations, ran a campaign asserting the ‘981, ‘749, and ‘019 patents that hit over 20 defendants.

Ericsson Added to Endeavor IP’s Smart Grid Campaign
Endeavor MeshTech, Inc., a subsidiary of publicly traded PAE Endeavor IP, Inc., has filed suit against Ericsson and its subsidiary BelAir Networks (1:16-cv-02165). Endeavor asserts the same three patents (7,399,981; 8,700,749; 8,855,019), generally related to a network of wirelessly connected meters, that it has asserted since it launched this campaign in July 2013. Since that time, Endeavor MeshTech has filed suit in various venues throughout the US against companies providing components used in energy grids or energy grids themselves, including Firetide, Itron, Leviton, and Tantalus Systems. The defendants’ smart grid technologies have been the accused products in this campaign.

Among those filing November cases were several subsidiaries of publicly traded patent assertion entities (PAEs), including Collabo Innovations, Inc. (a subsidiary of Wi-Lan Inc.); Iron Gate Security, Inc. (a subsidiary of Vringo, Inc.), and Endeavor MeshTech, Inc. (a subsidiary of Endeavor IP, Inc.).
