Four Tablet Makers Sued in Latest Memory Integrity Filings
At the end of November Memory Integrity added four new defendants to an assertion campaign begun earlier in the month. Archos, Barnes & Noble, Hisense, and Microsoft are the most recent companies against whom patent 7,296,121 has been asserted. The patent-in-suit relates to a computer system with a plurality of interconnected processing nodes and is involved in more than 20 suits. Memory Integrity alleges that these defendants, like those previously sued, sell products that incorporate infringing multicore processors. Specifically, defendants’ tablets are accused of infringing the patent-in-suit. In previous suits the accused products have been defendants’ mobile devices Memory Integrity acquired the litigated patent from Sanmina in June 2013. The technology was developed by Newisys which merged with Sanmina in October 2012. RPX saw the asserted patent in two open market opportunities, both offered in 2009. 11/26, District of Delaware, 1:13cv01981, 1:13cv01982, 1:13cv01983, 1:13cv01984

Memory Integrity Sues Mobile Device Makers with Former Sanmina Patents
Seventeen cases were filed this week by Memory Integrity (MI), the entity’s first. Defendants in the actions include ASUS, Amazon, Apple, Blackberry, Fujistu, Google, HTC, Huawei, Intel, LG, Lenovo, Motorola, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, and ZTE. Most cases assert a single patent related to a computer system with a plurality of interconnected processing nodes (7296121). The case against Intel also asserts three additional patents that relate to various aspects of computer system processing (7103636; 7107409; 8572206). In all cases, MI alleges defendants’ products that include a multiprocessor core infringe the patents. MI owns the patents-in-suit and acquired them from Sanmina in June 2013. The technology was developed by Newisys which merged with Sanmina in 2008. RPX saw three of the asserted patents as part of two open market opportunities, both offered in 2009. 11/1, District of Delaware, 1:13cv018795, 1:13cv018796, 1:13cv018797, 1:13cv018798, 1:13cv018799, 1:13cv01800, 1:13cv01801, 1:13cv01802, 1:13cv01803, 1:13cv01804, 1:13cv01805, 1:13cv01806, 1:13cv01807, 1:13cv01808, 1:13cv01809, 1:13cv01810, 1:13cv01811
