1. A power door actuation mechanism for moving a door of a motor vehicle between open and closed positions relative to a vehicle body, the power door actuation mechanism, comprising:
- a housing configured to be secured relative to the door against movement relative to a fixed spindle axis with an electric motor mounted to said housing and including a drive spindle configured to be rotatably driven by said electric motor about said fixed spindle axis, said drive spindle being operable to rotatably drive a drive nut assembly about a leadscrew axis of a leadscrew, said leadscrew being configured in threaded engagement with a drive nut of said drive nut assembly and being configured for connection to the vehicle body, wherein selective actuation of said electric motor rotatably drives said drive nut assembly, which translates said drive nut and said leadscrew relative to one another and drives the door between the open and closed positions, wherein said fixed spindle axis does not change orientation relative to the door as the door moves between the open and closed positions.
