1. A system for monitoring a glucose concentration in a host, the system comprising:
- a continuous glucose sensor configured to produce a signal indicative of a glucose concentration in a host; and
a receiver operably connected to the sensor, wherein the receiver comprises a user interface, and wherein the receiver further comprises programming configured to calibrate the signal, to display a graphical representation of the calibrated signal on the user interface, and to display a directional arrow indicative of a direction and a rate of change of the calibrated signal on the user interface.
