Abstract

A system for accessing development components, including an online video clip library of templates and an online music clip library, and enabling online production of user-friendly, custom-integrated media products. The system includes a Web application on a Website for hosting services for producers/advertisers/users. The system also includes a search engine that indexes the video, interactive Web formatting screens for selecting development components and producing the Web products in said Web application, an online MIXER module for editing and playing said selected video, an online editing program, which allows the advertiser/user to edit his advertisement himself, outside WebServices accessible by said advertisers of said Web application via the internet for custom-integrating, encoding and formatting the video clips and a parallel platform in which content producer/users and commercial libraries could upload their raw material and set their price.

Claims

1. A Web-based system for accessing development components, which include an online video clip library of templates and an online music clip library, and enabling user-friendly online production of custom-integrated media products, said system comprising:

a search engine for indexing a database and media content storage devices which store libraries of video and music clips uploaded by at least one component producer;

interactive Web formatting screens for selecting development components from said libraries to be used in producing the custom-integrated media products; and

a MIXER module for editing and playing said selected development components, wherein said MIXER module supports customization and personalization,

such that users are able to self-produce finished videos.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein said users are advertisers and wherein said finished videos comprise video advertisements, thereby enabling ad conception to campaign rollout to be achieved affordably in real-time.

3. The system of claim 1 further comprising outside WebServices accessible via the Internet by said users utilizing said system for custom-integrating, encoding and formatting said selected development components.

4. The system of claim 1, further comprising an online editing program located on said Web application, to be coordinated with said MIXER module, which allows the advertiser/user to edit his advertisement himself in a simple and friendly way from the raw material that he chooses.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein said mixer supports a variety of inputs and outputs.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are pre-roll ads.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are 10 to 60 second ads.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are ads longer than 9 seconds.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are transitional ads.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are banner ads.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are television ads.

12. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are cellular ads.

13. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are movies shorter than 10 minutes.

14. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are movies longer than 10 minutes.

15. The system of claim 1, wherein said media products are personalized email greeting cards.

16. The system of claim 1, wherein said outside WebServices are in streaming format.

17. The system of claim 1, wherein said module is executed as a FLASH APPLET.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein said FLASH APPLET is used for developing specific components inside the Web application.

19. The system of claim 1, wherein said FLASH APPLET is embedded in an ASP2 page.

20. The system of claim 1, wherein said streaming outside services also host the video clips.

21. The system of claim 1, wherein said Web application accesses outside servers for providing given services.

22. The system of claim 1, wherein said outside services comprise at least one of encoding, storing and streaming the video clips.

23. The system of claim 1, wherein said Web are written in MicroSoft™

.net™

formats.

24. The system of claim 1, wherein said MIXER module is embedded in a .net ASP2/3 page.

25. The system of claim 1, wherein said outside services also host the clips.

26. The system of claim 1, wherein said outside services stream the clips.

27. The system of claim 1, wherein said producer/advertiser/users are provided with revenue sharing for having uploaded their video and music clips.

28. A Web-based method for accessing development components, which include an online video clip library of templates and an online music clip library, and enabling user-friendly online production of custom-integrated media products, said method comprising:

providing a search engine that indexes a database and media content storage devices for storing the libraries of video and music clips uploaded by at least one component producer;

providing interactive Web formatting screens for selecting development components and producing the custom-integrated media products;

providing an online MIXER module for editing and playing said selected development components;

searching by a user for a suitable video clip for the media product;

editing said video clip and changing aspects related to said video clip, such as the text, music, narration, logo and background colors;

such that said users are able to self-produce finished videos.

29. The method of claim 28 wherein said users are advertisers and wherein said finished videos comprise video advertisements, thereby enabling ad conception to campaign rollout to be achieved affordably in real-time.

30. The method of claim 29 wherein after editing said video clip as said video advertisement, said advertiser buys the ad, enabling said at least one component developer to receive remuneration for said component.

31. The method of claim 28 further comprising uploading the development components by a plurality of said component developers.

32. The method of claim 28 further comprising accessing commercial libraries of video clips and other raw material.

33. The method of claim 28 further comprising providing outside WebServices accessible via the Internet by said users utilizing said Web application for custom-integrating, encoding and formatting said selected development components.

34. The method of claim 28, further comprising providing an online editing program located on said Web application, to be coordinated with said MIXER module, which allows the user to edit the media product himself in a simple and friendly way.

35. The method of claim 29, further comprising publishing the ad and sending it to another Website, such as Google'"'"'s Web advertising service.

36. The method of claim 29, further comprising publishing the ad through a Web advertising service at various times and in various locations for a price which said advertiser establishes to develop a marketing campaign.

37. The method of claim 31, wherein said uploading occurs from a community of producers who are rewarded once said video clips become part of a published video clip that is used by a given user who has purchased it.

38. The method of claim 28, further comprising connecting with a Wizard, for example, to create an online broadcast advertising campaign, using such services as Yahoo! Video Advertising™

and Spot Exchange™

39. The method of claim 28, wherein said editing further comprises taking various sources of media content and integrating them in the video template.

40. The method of claim 29, further comprising customizing and personalizing the video template by said advertiser.

41. The method of claim 40, wherein said Web application can automatically personalize a different copy of said advertisement for each person targeted to receive the ad.

42. The method of claim 40, wherein said personalizing comprises personalizing the individual fields in said video template to match a distribution list with features such as names and pictures.

43. The method of claim 30, wherein said buying further comprises having one of exclusive and non-exclusive use of said video clip, and at least one of territorial use and industry-wide use within one or more business segments and one or more time periods.
