Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for providing a particular greeting (35), preferred customized advertisement (39) and preferred customized message (37) that is personalized to a particular hotel/resort guest. The greeting (35), advertisement (37) and message (39) are delivered via a service terminal unit (50) located inside a guest room. An introduction message including a personalized greeting (35) for the particular guest at a particular period and addressing the guest by their name plays first via the service terminal unit (50) located in the guest room. After the introduction, messages (39), and personalized information containing advertisements (37) including activities, sites, special events, and services that are customized and preferred by the particular hotel/resort guest play via the service terminal unit (50).

Claims

1. A method for providing a personalized greeting and information to a particular guest, said system including a processor, input device/output device, a database, an operating memory, a personalized greeting and information procedure, said method comprising:

Storing the personalized greeting and information for the particular guest in said database;

receiving the personalized greeting and information for the particular guest via said input/output devices;

deleting said personalized greeting and information stored in the database concerning said guest;

adding more information to said personalized greeting;

generating said greeting and information that is chosen by said guest; and

communicating said greeting and information to said guest.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising classifying the greeting and information data based on a plurality of categories including greetings, services, biometrics and entertainment data for providing preferred choices of said particular guest.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying the database including greetings, services and entertainment chosen by a particular guest.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying the biometrics database of said guest.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising selecting said classification from a plurality of factors including a group location of said guest, location of services, geographic location of hotels or resorts, personal tastes of said particular guest, age of said particular guest, gender of said particular guest, dates of services, prices of said services, and types of entertainments.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising displaying information on the output device in video graphic form.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the type and format of the services and entertainment are qualified in a current.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising producing a data signal, and sending said data signal to a service apparatus unit.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein a door sensor device is connected to a guest room door.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising activating a particular door sensor device connected to the guest room door and said activating occurring when said guest room door is opened.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising

communicating said personalized greeting, and the personalized message, to a service terminal unit in a particular room that said particular guest has been assigned after the door sensor device has been activated.

12. The method of claim 1, further comprises providing a particular greeting and message for said particular guest via the service terminal, and,

displaying a plurality of options for selecting services and entertainment on said service terminal.

13. The method of claim 1, further comprising confirming the selected options by at least one of voice, sound, music, or displaying the information.

14. The method of claim 1, further comprising developing a plurality of recommendations for the guest based on information stored in the service terminal unit.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein said recommendations provided include advertisements data, preferences data, greetings data and the guest data personal data and promotional recommendations in response to an analysis of stored guest information.

16. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying and storing the recommended guest information in a plurality of assigned electronic packages.

17. The method of claim 1, further comprising selecting and organizing the electronic packages including a personalized greeting and information format based on said preference data of said guest.

18. The method of claim 1, further comprising the personalized greeting and information format including a personalized audio greeting addressing said guest by name, a personalized audio advertisement selected by said guest and a personalized audio message requested by said guest.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the steps of communicating said personalized greeting and information format to said guest includes steps comprising:

activating a door sensor when a guest room door is opened, wherein said door sensor is attached to said guest room door for gaining access to a guest room assigned to said guest;

producing a data signal in response to said activated door sensor;

communicating said data signal to a service apparatus unit;

sending said personalized greeting, said personalized advertisement, and said personalized message via said service apparatus unit to a service terminal unit located in said guest room in response to said communicated data signal;

communicating said personalized greeting, said personalized advertisement, and said personalized message to said guest via said service terminal unit.

20. The method of claim 1, further comprising displaying service and entertainment options available on the service terminal unit for said guest to select.

21. The method of claim 1, comprising verifying the options selected by the guest with an audio confirmation.

22. An apparatus for providing a personalized greeting and information to a particular guest for a transaction comprising:

a processor, input device/output device and an operating memory;

a database for containing the personalized greeting and information for the particular guest;

a means for receiving the personalized greeting and information for the particular guest at a particular place and a particular time; and

,

a personalized greeting and information procedure stored in said operating memory and operative to configure said processor to (a) process the greeting and information of the particular guest, (b) alter the greeting and ion stored said database concerning said guest;

information of the particular guest, (c) generate a plurality of greeting and information data personalized for the particular guest and (d) to communicate the greeting and information data to the particular guest.
