Abstract

A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus by which a user may access information about one or more properties may be used by an insurance provider or claims administrator to provide an information portal to its clients. User input identifying one or more foreclosed properties may be received. Then, property data may be retrieved from a property database, and the property data may include property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the identified properties. Then, based on the retrieved property data, it may be determined whether an identified property is damaged and whether an insurance claim was filed. Subsequently, information corresponding to the identified property may be displayed, and this information may include a damage indicator and an insurance claim status indicator.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

receiving from a first entity a first user input identifying a first set of one or more foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from a property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the first set of foreclosed properties;

for a first property in the first set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the first property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the first property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a first damage indicator for the first property, a first insurance claim status indicator for the first property, and information identifying the first property.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the damage information retrieved from the property database indicates that the first property is damaged, and wherein the insurance claim information retrieved from the property database indicates that no insurance claim was filed for the first property.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining that the first entity has a sufficient level of permissions to access data in the property database corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving from a second entity a second user input identifying a second set of foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from the property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the second set of foreclosed properties;

for a second property in the second set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the second property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the second property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the second set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a second damage indicator for the second property, a second insurance claim status indicator for the second property, and information identifying the second property,

wherein the first entity is different from the second entity, and

wherein the first entity and the second entity have different sets of access permissions in the property database corresponding to different sets of foreclosed properties.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein displaying the data comprises displaying a web interface.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein displaying the web interface further includes:

displaying first loan identification information, first borrower information, first work order information, first loss information, and first claim information.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein the insurance claim information retrieved from the property database indicates that an insurance claim was filed for the first property, and wherein the method further comprises:

receiving a request via the web interface for the insurance claim filed for the first property;

identifying a provider associated with the insurance claim;

retrieving the insurance claim from the provider; and

displaying the insurance claim via the web interface.

8. A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon, that when executed by a computer perform:

receiving from a first entity a first user input identifying a first set of one or more foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from a property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the first set of foreclosed properties;

for a first property in the first set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the first property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the first property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a first damage indicator for the first property, a first insurance claim status indicator for the first property, and information identifying the first property.

The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the damage information retrieved from the property database indicates that the first property is damaged, and wherein the insurance claim information retrieved from the property database indicates that no insurance claim was filed for the first property.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, having additional computer-executable instructions stored thereon that when executed by a computer perform:

determining that the first entity has a sufficient level of permissions to access data in the property database corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties.

11. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, having additional computer-executable instructions stored thereon that when executed by a computer perform:

receiving from a second entity a second user input identifying a second set of foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from the property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the second set of foreclosed properties;

for a second property in the second set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the second property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the second property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the second set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a second damage indicator for the second property, a second insurance claim status indicator for the second property, and information identifying the second property,

wherein the first entity is different from the second entity, and

wherein the first entity and the second entity have different sets of access permissions in the property database corresponding to different sets of foreclosed properties.

12. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein displaying the data comprises displaying a web interface.

13. The computer-readable medium of claim 12, wherein displaying the web interface further includes:

displaying first loan identification information, first borrower information, first work order information, first loss information, and first claim information.

14. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor; and

memory storing computer readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to perform;

receiving from a first entity a first user input identifying a first set of one or more foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from a property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the first set of foreclosed properties;

for a first property in the first set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the first property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the first property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a first damage indicator for the first property, a first insurance claim status indicator for the first property, and information identifying the first property.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the damage information retrieved from the property database indicates that the first property is damaged, and wherein the insurance claim information retrieved from the property database indicates that no insurance claim was filed for the first property.

16. The apparatus of claim 14, the memory further comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to perform:

determining that the first entity has a sufficient level of permissions to access data in the property database corresponding to each of the first set of foreclosed properties.

17. The apparatus of claim 14, the memory further comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to perform:

receiving from a second entity a second user input identifying a second set of foreclosed properties;

retrieving property data from the property database, said property data comprising property damage information and insurance claim information for each of the second set of foreclosed properties;

for a second property in the second set of foreclosed properties, determining whether the second property is damaged based on damage information retrieved from the property database;

determining whether an insurance claim was filed for the second property based on insurance claim information retrieved from the property database; and

displaying data corresponding to each of the second set of foreclosed properties, said data comprising a second damage indicator for the second property, a second insurance claim status indicator for the second property, and information identifying the second property,

wherein the first entity is different from the second entity, and

wherein the first entity and the second entity have different sets of access permissions in the property database corresponding to different sets of foreclosed properties.

18. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein displaying the data comprises displaying a web interface.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein displaying the web interface further includes:

displaying first loan identification information, first borrower information, first work order information, first loss information, and first claim information.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the insurance claim information retrieved from the property database indicates that an insurance claim was filed for the first property, and wherein the method further comprises:

receiving a request via the web interface for the insurance claim filed for the first property;

identifying a provider associated with the insurance claim;

retrieving the insurance claim from the provider; and

displaying the insurance claim via the web interface.
