Abstract

Displaying, on a mobile communication device, an opportunity to receive selection of a displayed ad. Receiving selection of a displayed ad. Determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad. Making the selected ad available for re-serve. Upon occurrence of a determined re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for advertising on a communication device, the method comprising:

displaying, on the device, an opportunity to receive selection of a displayed ad;

receiving selection of a displayed ad;

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of a determined re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

determining an expiration date of an offer in the selected ad,

establishing a time prior to the determined expiration date as the re-serve condition.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

displaying an opportunity to receive specification of a re-serve condition, and

receiving specification of a re-serve condition.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein:

making the selected ad available for re-serve comprises;

storing the ad on the device.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein:

making the selected ad available for reserve comprises;

storing the ad off the device, and storing a pointer to the stored ad on the device.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

after occurrence of a re-serve condition,

determining at least one subsequent re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of at least one determined subsequent re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

7. A computer program product for advertising on a communication device, the computer program product comprising:

at least one computer readable medium; and

at least one program module;

stored on the at least one medium, and

operable, upon execution by a processor for;

displaying, on the device, an opportunity to receive selection of a displayed ad;

receiving selection of a displayed ad;

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of a determined re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

8. The computer program product of claim 7, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

determining an expiration date of an offer in the selected ad,

establishing a time prior to the determined expiration date as the re-serve condition.

9. The computer program product of claim 7, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

displaying an opportunity to receive specification of a re-serve condition, and

receiving specification of a re-serve condition.

10. The computer program product of claim 7, wherein:

making the selected ad available for re-serve comprises;

storing the ad on the device.

11. The computer program product of claim 7, wherein:

making the selected ad available for reserve comprises;

storing the ad off the device, and storing a pointer to the stored ad on the device.

12. The computer program product of claim 7, further comprising:

after occurrence of a re-serve condition,

determining at least one subsequent re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of at least one determined subsequent re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

13. A mobile communication device comprising:

at least one processor,

at least one computer readable medium in communication with the processor; and

at least one program module,

stored on the at least one medium, and

operable, upon execution by the processor for;

displaying, on the device, an opportunity to receive selection of a displayed ad;

receiving selection of a displayed ad;

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of a determined re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

14. The mobile communication device of claim 13, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

determining an expiration date of an offer in the selected ad,

establishing a time prior to the determined expiration date as the re-serve condition.

15. The mobile communication device of claim 13, wherein:

determining at least one re-serve condition for the selected ad comprises;

displaying an opportunity to receive specification of a re-serve condition, and

receiving specification of a re-serve condition.

16. The mobile communication device of claim 13, wherein:

making the selected ad available for re-serve comprises;

storing the ad on the device.

17. The mobile communication device of claim 13, wherein:

making the selected ad available for reserve comprises;

storing the ad off the device, and storing a pointer to the stored ad on the device.

18. The mobile communication device of claim 13, further comprising:

after occurrence of a re-serve condition,

determining at least one subsequent re-serve condition for the selected ad;

making the selected ad available for re-serve; and

upon occurrence of at least one determined subsequent re-serve condition, displaying the selected ad on the device.

19. A computer program product for advertising on a communication device, the computer program product comprising:

at least one computer readable medium; and

at least one program module;

stored on the at least one medium, and

operable, upon execution by a processor for;

soliciting input regarding re-serve conditions for an ad;

receiving input to modify a re-serve condition for the ad;

re-serve the ad according to the modified conditions.
