Abstract

Data collection agent associated with a mobile device movable within a mobile communications environment that includes at least one available network connectable to the mobile device. The data collection agent includes an acquisition device to acquire data related to at least one of: service coverage for the at least one available network; service quality for the at least one available network; usage for the at least one available network; and system data from the mobile device, and a transmitter to send the acquired data to a web server.

Claims

1. A data collection agent associated with a mobile device movable within a mobile communications environment that includes at least one available network connectable to the mobile device, the data collection agent comprising:

an acquisition device to acquire data related to at least one of;

service coverage for the at least one available network;

service quality for the at least one available network;

usage for the at least one available network; and

system data from the mobile device; and

a transmitter to send the acquired data to a web server.

2. The data collection agent according to claim 1, further comprising at least one network connector that establishes a connection between the mobile device with the at least one available network.

3. The data collection agent according to claim 2, wherein the at least one network connector comprises a plurality of network connectors and the at least one available network comprises a plurality of available networks that includes at least one of public and private networks, and

wherein each of the plurality of available networks are connected to respective ones of the plurality of network connectors.

4. The data collection agent according to claim 3, further comprising an adapter manager that creates the plurality of network connectors.

5. The data collection agent according to claim 3, wherein the acquisition device acquires data related to at least one of:

the service coverage for the plurality of available networks;

the service quality for the plurality of available networks;

the usage for the plurality of available networks; and

system data from the mobile device.

6. The data collection agent according to claim 1, further comprising a locator that determines a position of the mobile device when the data is acquired.

7. The data collection agent according to claim 6, wherein the transmission device sends the acquired data and the position of the mobile device when the data was acquired to the web server.

8. The data collection agent according to claim 6, wherein the acquisition device establishes connection to the locator to acquire data related to the position of the mobile device.

9. The data collection agent according to claim 1, further comprising a memory into which the acquired data is stored at least until the transmitter sends the acquired data to the web server.

10. The data collection agent according to claim 1, wherein system data comprises at least one of:

information at least one of pertaining to and associated with the applications and processes running on the mobile device, protocol state, operating system type and version running on the mobile device, virtual private network VPN. type and version running on the mobile device.

11. A method of collecting and transmitting data associated with a mobile device movable within a mobile communications environment that includes at least one available network connectable to the mobile device, the method comprising:

acquiring data related to at least one of;

service coverage for the at least one available network;

service quality for the at least one available network;

usage for the at least one available network; and

system data from the mobile device; and

transmitting the acquired data to a web server.

12. The method according to claim 11, further comprising establishing a connection between the mobile device and the at least one available network.

13. The method according to claim 12, wherein the at least one available network comprises a plurality of available networks that includes at least one of public and private networks, and

wherein each of the plurality of available networks are connected to the mobile device.

14. The method according to claim 13, further comprising creating the plurality of network connectors.

15. The method according to claim 13, wherein the acquisition device acquires data related to at least one of:

the service coverage for the plurality of available networks;

the service quality for the plurality of available networks;

the usage for the plurality of available networks; and

system data from the mobile device.

16. The method according to claim 11, further comprising determining a position of the mobile device when the data is acquired.

17. The method according to claim 16, further comprising transmitting the position of the mobile device when the data was acquired to the web server when transmitting the acquired data.

18. The method according to claim 16, further comprising establishing connection to the locator to acquire data related to the position of the mobile device.

19. The method according to claim 11, further comprising storing the acquired data into a memory at least until the transmitter sends the acquired data to the web server.

20. The method according to claim 11, wherein system data comprises at least one of:

information at least one of pertaining to and associated with the applications and processes running on the mobile device, protocol state, operating system type and version running on the mobile device, virtual private network (VPN) type and version running on the mobile device.
