Abstract

A method of preventing an abnormality during wireless charging is provided. The method includes transmitting wireless charging power to a plurality of wireless power receivers based on a first power value determined according to a first mode by a wireless power transmitter, determining whether the wireless power transmitter or at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers satisfies an abnormality occurrence condition, and if the abnormality occurrence condition is satisfied, transmitting wireless charging power to the plurality of wireless power receivers based on a second power value determined according to a second mode by the wireless power transmitter.

Claims

1. A method of preventing an abnormality during wireless charging, the method comprising:

transmitting wireless charging power to a plurality of wireless power receivers based on a first power value determined according to a first mode by a wireless power transmitter;

determining whether the wireless power transmitter or at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers satisfies an abnormality occurrence condition; and

if the abnormality occurrence condition is satisfied, transmitting wireless charging power to the plurality of wireless power receivers based on a second power value determined according to a second mode by the wireless power transmitter.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first mode corresponds to a minimum error tracking algorithm.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the second mode corresponds to a minimum power efficiency tracking algorithm.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured voltage value exceeds a predetermined value.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured current value exceeds a predetermined value.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured temperature value exceeds a predetermined value.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining whether the wireless power transmitter or at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers satisfies an abnormality release condition; and

if the abnormality release condition is satisfied, transmitting wireless charging power to the plurality of wireless power receivers using the first power value determined according to the first mode by the wireless power transmitter.

8. A method of preventing an abnormality during wireless charging, the method comprising:

determining a first transmission power value, taking into account a dominant wireless power receiver among a plurality of wireless power receivers by a wireless power transmitter;

transmitting wireless charging power using the determined first transmission power value by the wireless power transmitter;

determining whether at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers satisfies an abnormality occurrence condition;

setting a wireless power receiver satisfying the abnormality occurrence condition as the dominant wireless power receiver; and

transmitting wireless charging power using a second transmission power value determined taking into account the set dominant wireless power receiver by the wireless power transmitter.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the dominant wireless power receiver is determined by a minimum error tracking algorithm.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured voltage value exceeds a predetermined value.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured current value exceeds a predetermined value.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured temperature value exceeds a predetermined value.

13. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

determining whether the wireless power transmitter or at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers satisfies an abnormality release condition; and

if the abnormality release condition is satisfied, transmitting wireless charging power to the wireless power receivers using a third power value determined according to a first mode by the wireless power transmitter.

14. A method of preventing an abnormality during wireless charging, the method comprising:

transmitting wireless charging power to a plurality of wireless power receivers by a wireless power transmitter;

sensing an occurrence of an abnormality in at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers; and

transmitting a power adjust command to at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured voltage value exceeds a predetermined value.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured current value exceeds a predetermined value.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein the abnormality occurrence condition is when a measured temperature value exceeds a predetermined value.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein the power adjust command is a control command for reducing power consumption of at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers.

19. The method of claim 14, wherein the power adjust command is transmitted in a Power Receiving Unit (PRU) control signal.

20. A method of preventing an abnormality during wireless charging, the method comprising:

transmitting wireless charging power to a plurality of wireless power receivers by a wireless power transmitter;

sensing an occurrence of an abnormality in at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers; and

transmitting a power reception stop command to at least one of the plurality of wireless power receivers.
