1. An electrochemical-based sensor comprising:

  • an electrode; and

    a chemical composition coated on a surface of the electrode, the chemical composition including a redox polymer with;

    a hydrophobic polymer backbone;

    at least one hydrophilic polymer arm attached to the hydrophobic polymer backbone, the hydrophilic polymer arm formed from at least one of N-vinylpyrrolidone, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, N-isopropylacrylamide, glycerol methacrylate, acrylamide, and combinations thereof; and

    a plurality of redox mediators attached to the at least one hydrophilic polymer arm.
