1. An infusion pump comprising:
- a pump housing;
a user interface carried by the housing;
a pump actuator positioned by the housing so as to be able to actuate a medical fluid pump member; and
wherein the user interface and the pump actuator are powered interchangeably by (a) a first, rechargeable battery unit including (i) a first battery unit housing having a cover and a base, (ii) a push button and (iii) a plurality of posts, the plurality of posts configured to cooperate with the pump housing to secure the first, rechargeable battery unit to the pump housing, and wherein the push button is configured to retract the first, rechargeable battery unit posts to release the first, rechargeable battery unit from the pump housing and (b) a second, non-rechargeable battery unit including a second battery unit housing having a cover and a base, both the first and second battery units configured to power the user interface and the pump actuator at a place for which outside power is unavailable, and such that the user interface and the pump actuator can be powered by the second battery unit while the first battery unit is being recharged.

a pump housing; a user interface carried by the housing; a pump actuator positioned by the housing so as to be able to actuate a medical fluid pump member; and wherein the user interface and the pump actuator are powered interchangeably by a first, rechargeable battery unit and a second, non-rechargeable battery unit, the second non-rechargeable battery unit including a non-rechargeable battery unit housing, both the first and second battery units configured to power the user interface and the pump actuator at a place for which outside power is unavailable, and such that the user interface and the pump actuator can be powered by the second battery unit while the first battery unit is being recharged, and wherein the rechargeable battery unit is releasably secured to the pump housing and includes;
(i) a push button and a plurality of posts configured to releasably secure the first, rechargeable battery unit to the pump housing, (ii) a rechargeable battery unit housing, (iii) at least one rechargeable battery and (iv) a transformer to convert a line voltage into a voltage useable by the at least one rechargeable battery, such that the rechargeable battery unit can be removed from the housing and the at least one rechargeable battery can be recharged by the line voltage. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
