- placing an electrical lead having an electrode disposed thereon in communication with a corpus callosum; and
activating the electrode to apply an electrical signal to the corpus callosum to stimulate the corpus callosum;
wherein at least one of;
the electrode comprises a plurality of electrodes arranged at different axial positions along a length of the electrical lead; and
the electrical lead is cylindrical.

placing an electrical lead, with an electrode disposed thereon, in communication with, and on an under-surface of, a corpus callosum; and activating the electrode to apply an electrical signal to the corpus callosum to stimulate the corpus callosum.

7. A method of stimulating a corpus callosum, the method comprising:

placing an electrical lead having an electrode disposed thereon in communication with a corpus callosum; and activating the electrode to apply an electrical signal to the corpus callosum to stimulate the corpus callosum; wherein at least one of; (A) the electrical lead penetrates the corpus callosum and at least one of; (i) the method further comprises anchoring the electrical lead to the dura mater of the brain; and (ii) the electrical lead extends within the corpus callosum approximately along a longitudinal axis of the corpus callosum; (B) the electrical lead includes a lead body and at least one of; (i) the lead body is of flexible material that is deformable from a pre-operative shape to a different post-operative shape; and (ii) the electrical lead further comprises a conductor that extends approximately perpendicularly away from the lead; (C) the placement of the electrical lead is such that the bottom surface thereof faces and extends longitudinally along the corpus callosum and the top surface thereof, that is opposite the bottom surface, faces away from the corpus callosum, the top surface being insulated without any electrode being exposed at the top surface; and (D) the method further comprises anchoring the electrical lead via at least one anchor, and at least one of; (i) the electrode comprises a plurality of electrodes; (ii) the electrical lead penetrates the corpus callosum; and (iii) the electrical lead is cylindrical. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25)
