1. An apparatus for fractional wounding of skin, comprising:
- an applicator that is configured to apply at least one chromophore in a specific pattern to a predetermined area of the skin, wherein the specific pattern corresponds to a desired pattern of fractional wounding of the skin; and
a hardware radiation source that is configured to provide electromagnetic radiation to the predetermined area of the skin so as to produce a plurality of thermally-damaged regions in an epidermal portion of the skin based on an interaction between the at least one chromophore and the electromagnetic radiation.

13. An apparatus for fractional wounding of skin, comprising;
-
a mask structured to cover a portion of the predetermined area of the skin; and a hardware radiation source configured to apply electromagnetic radiation to the predetermined area so as to generate regions of a thermal injury in an epidermal portion of the skin based on an interaction between the electromagnetic radiation and at least one of the mask arrangement or at least one chromophore that is applied to the skin, wherein a predetermined pattern of fractional wounding is formed based on the mask arrangement. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
