1. An IV set for coupling with a pump device, the IV set comprising:

  • a fluid lumen adapted for passage of an infusion fluid toward a patient, the fluid lumen having a first end and a second end;

    a frame having a first end and a second end, the frame coupled to the fluid lumen such that the fluid lumen is positioned adjacent the frame with the first end of the fluid lumen positioned at a first end of the frame and a second end of the fluid lumen positioned at a second end of the frame, the frame adapted to be inserted into a seat of a pump device, wherein the frame provides a platen relative to the fluid lumen, wherein the frame is sized and shaped such that the frame can only be inserted into the pump device when aligned in a predetermined orientation relative to the pump device;

    a rotary valve assembly that can be actuated to regulate fluid flow through the fluid lumen, the rotary valve assembly being attached to the first end of the frame, and wherein the fluid lumen extends through the rotary valve assembly, wherein the rotary valve assembly transitions between an open state and a closed state;

    a valve handle on the rotary valve, wherein the valve handle is actuated to control the rotary valve assembly between the open state and the closed state, wherein the valve handle directly contacts and mates with a lock knob on a door of the pump device when the frame is positioned in the pump device so that actuation of the valve handle is directly coupled to a movement of the lock knob on the door of the pump device;

    an information device adapted to store information associated with the IV set, wherein the information device is accessed in response to proper placement of the IV set in the pump device.
