Abstract

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, the apparatus may receive a set of configurations for an EPDCCH that are tied to a set of configurations received for a PDSCH. The apparatus may then receive and process the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the set of configurations for the EPDCCH. In another aspect, the apparatus may determine at least a first and second resource set configured for a control channel and may determine a common set of aggregation levels for the first and second resource sets. The apparatus may further determine first rate-matching parameters for the first resource set and second rate-matching parameters for the second resource set, and may process the control channel using the common set of aggregation levels and the first and second rate-matching parameters.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

receiving a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

receiving a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

receiving the EPDCCH; and

processing the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the received EPDCCH is received on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations correspond to includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein receiving the second set of configurations includes receiving an indicator identifying a QCL configuration parameter, and wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations using the indicator identifying the QCL configuration.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the QCL indication parameter comprises a QCL-Channel State Information (CSI)-Reference Signal (RS)-Index for the EPDCCH.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein processing the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the second set of configurations includes determining an EPDCCH resource element (RE) mapping and an EPDCCH antenna port quasi co-location based on the at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the first set of configurations includes a plurality of PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes one or more EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the plurality of PDSCH configurations.

14. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

configuring a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

configuring a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

transmitting the first set of configurations for the PDSCH and the second set of configurations for the EPDCCH; and

transmitting the EPDCCH.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the transmitted EPDCCH is transmitted on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the second set of configurations includes an indicator identifying a quasi-co-location configuration.

19. The method of claim 14, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

20. The method of claim 14, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein the QCL indication parameter comprises a QCL-Channel State Information (CSI)-Reference Signal (RS)-Index for the EPDCCH.

22. The method of claim 14, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH.

23. The method of claim 14, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

24. The method of claim 14, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

25. The method of claim 14, wherein the first set of configurations includes a plurality of PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes one or more EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the plurality of PDSCH configurations.

26. An apparatus of wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

means for receiving a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

means for receiving the EPDCCH; and

means for processing the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

27. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the received EPDCCH is received on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

28. The apparatus of claim 27, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

29. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

30. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

31. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

32. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

33. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the means for processing the EPDCCH determines an EPDCCH resource element (RE) mapping and an EPDCCH antenna port quasi co-location based on the at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

34. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for configuring a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

means for configuring a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

means for transmitting the first set of configurations for the PDSCH and the second set of configurations for the EPDCCH; and

means for transmitting the EPDCCH.

35. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the transmitted EPDCCH is transmitted on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

36. The apparatus of claim 35, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

37. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

38. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

39. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

40. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

41. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to;

receive a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

receive a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

receive the EPDCCH; and

process the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

42. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the received EPDCCH is received on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

43. The apparatus of claim 42, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

44. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

45. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

46. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

47. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

48. The apparatus of claim 41, wherein processing the EPDCCH based on the at least one configuration from the second set of configuration includes determining an EPDCCH resource element (RE) mapping and an EPDCCH antenna port quasi co-location based on the at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

49. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to;

configure a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

configure a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

transmit the first set of configurations for the PDSCH and the second set of configurations for the EPDCCH; and

transmit the EPDCCH.

50. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the transmitted EPDCCH is transmitted on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

51. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

52. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

53. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

54. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH.

55. The apparatus of claim 49, wherein the second set of configurations corresponds to the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH.

56. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code for wireless communication, comprising code for:

receiving a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

receiving a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

receiving the EPDCCH; and

processing the EPDCCH based on at least one configuration from the second set of configurations.

57. The computer-readable medium of claim 56, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the received EPDCCH is received on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

58. The computer-readable medium of claim 57, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

59. The computer-readable medium of claim 56, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration, and wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.

60. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code for wireless communication, comprising code for:

configuring a first set of configurations for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), each configuration in the first set of configurations defining at least one of a starting symbol, rate-matching information, or a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication;

configuring a second set of configurations for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH), the second set of configurations corresponding to a subset from among the first set of configurations and the second set of configurations being indicated by reference to a subset of configurations from among the first set of configurations, wherein each configuration in the second set of configurations corresponds to at least one of;

a quasi-co-location (QCL) indication parameter for the EPDCCH,

a starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, or

a rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH,

wherein for each of the second set of configurations, the QCL indication parameter for the EPDCCH, the starting symbol parameter for the EPDCCH, and the rate matching parameter for the EPDCCH is based on a PDSCH configuration from the first set of configurations;

transmitting the first set of configurations for the PDSCH and the second set of configurations for the EPDCCH; and

transmitting the EPDCCH.

61. The computer-readable medium of claim 60, wherein:

the second set of configurations includes a first EPDCCH configuration and a second EPDCCH configuration,

the transmitted EPDCCH is transmitted on a first resource set and a second resource set,

the first EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the first resource set, and

the second EPDCCH configuration is defined for processing the EPDCCH on the second resource set.

62. The computer-readable medium of claim 61, wherein the first set of configurations includes four PDSCH configurations and the second set of configurations includes two EPDCCH configurations that are a subset from among the four PDSCH configurations.

63. The computer-readable medium of claim 60, wherein the second set of configurations is selected from the first set of configurations based on a radio resource control (RRC) configuration.

64. The computer-readable medium of claim 60, wherein the PDSCH is implemented in a coordinated multipoint system.
