1. A method for generating a frame control of a broadcast frame in a broadcast network, the method comprising:

  • generating, by a base station or a broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, an initial Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the frame control using a first sequence, wherein the initial OFDM symbol is a synchronization symbol configured to enable synchronization and initial channel estimation at a receiver, and wherein the first sequence is generated based on a Zadoff-Chu (ZC) root index value;

    transmitting, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, the initial OFDM symbol of the frame control of the broadcast frame to the receiver;

    determining, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, a first cyclic shift based on information to be signaled to the receiver, wherein the information used for determining the first cyclic shift comprises frame configuration information associated with the broadcast frame;

    applying, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, the first cyclic shift to the first sequence to generate a second sequence, wherein the second sequence is based on the ZC root index value;

    generating, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, a second OFDM symbol of the frame control using the second sequence;

    transmitting, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, the second OFDM symbol of the frame control of the broadcast frame to the receiver;

    applying, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, a second cyclic shift to the first sequence to generate a third sequence, wherein the third sequence is based on the ZC root index value and wherein the second cyclic shift is based on the frame configuration information associated with the broadcast frame;

    generating, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, a third OFDM symbol of the frame control using the third sequence; and

    transmitting, by the base station or the broadcast gateway of the broadcast network, the third OFDM symbol of the frame control of the broadcast frame to the receiver.
