1. A method for producing a collagen polypeptide, wherein said collagen is selected from the group comprising collagen types IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII, XVIII, and XIX, comprising:

  • a. culturing a host cell, wherein said host cell has been infected, transfected or transformed with (i) a first expression vector comprising a polynucleotide molecule having a nucleic acid sequence which encodes a collagen subunit; and

    (ii) a second expression vector comprising a polynucleotide molecule having a nucleic acid sequence which encodes at least one collagen post-translational enzyme or subunit thereof; and

    b. purifying said collagen polypeptide.
