Abstract

A digital image storage system includes an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for the purpose of taking out digital images in a memory of the digital camera and a digital image storage located apart from the adapter for communicating therewith. The digital image storage includes a detector that detects a signal from the adapter, a function unit that causes the taking out of the digital images in response to the signal, and a storage medium that stores the taken out digital images.

Claims

1. A digital image storage system for a digital camera having a memory, comprising:

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for the purpose of taking out digital images in the memory; and

a digital image storage located apart from the adapter for communicating therewith, wherein the digital image storage includes a detector that detects a signal from the adapter, a function unit that causes the taking out of the digital images in response to the signal, and a storage medium that stores the taken out digital images.

2. The digital image storage system according to claim 1, wherein the function unit is designed to take out all the digital images in the memory in response to the signal.

3. The digital image storage system according to claim 1, wherein the function unit is designed to carry out the taking out of the digital images in order of the time when respective digital images were taken by the digital camera.

4. The digital image storage system according to claim 1, wherein the digital camera includes a battery, and wherein the adapter is designed to charge the battery when the digital camera is coupled with the adapter.

5. The digital image storage system according to claim 1, wherein the signal is caused by the laying down of the digital camera on the adapter.

6. A digital image storage for a digital camera having a memory, digital images in the memory being transmitted from the memory to the digital image storage by way of an adapter capable of being coupled with the digital camera, comprising:

a detector that detects a signal from the adapter;

a function unit responsive to the detection of the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital images; and

a memory that stores the transmitted digital images.

7. The digital image storage according to claim 6, wherein the function unit is designed to take out all the digital images in the memory in response to the signal.

8. A program carried out in a digital image storage for a digital camera having a memory, digital images in the memory being transmitted from the memory to the digital image storage by way of an adapter capable of being coupled with the digital camera, the program comprising the steps of:

detecting a signal from the adapter;

carrying out in response to the signal from the detector the transmission of the digital images; and

storing the transmitted digital images.

9. A digital image storage system for a digital camera having a memory, comprising:

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for the purpose of taking out digital images in the memory; and

a digital image storage located apart from the adapter for communicating therewith, wherein the digital image storage includes a detector that detects a signal from the adapter, a function unit having a program for taking out the digital images, and a storage medium that stores the taken out digital images, the program being automatically started in response to the signal detected by the detector.

10. A digital image storage system for a digital camera having a memory, comprising:

an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for the purpose of taking out digital images in the memory; and

a digital image storage located apart from the adapter for communicating therewith, wherein the digital image storage includes a detector that detects the change of status of the adapter, a function unit that causes the taking out of the digital images in response to the detection of the detector, and a storage medium that stores the taken out digital images.
