1. A method of repair with a sealing tape, comprising the steps of:

  • applying a preformed sealing tape to a joint between a pair of metal surfaces or metal plates to bond said sealing tape to said joint while bending said sealing tape up to a substantially right angle when said sealing tape is applied to said joint, said sealing tape assuming an elongated shape with a bottom surface and a predetermined thickness measured in a direction perpendicular to said bottom surface and having a curved surface in an upper surface;

    applying paint to the upper surface of said sealing tape thus bent and bonded to said joint;

    said sealing tape being made of a sealing-tape material containing an unvulcanized rubber-base material and its vulcanization accelerator; and

    heating said paint and said sealing tape thus bent and bonded, said sealing tape being fully and immediately vulcanized using a secondary-utilization of said heating step to become a final rubber product with a fixed resilient shape, said heating step being primarily required for a specified one of various types of painting processes including ones not requiring any heating step.
