Method and system for providing interested party access to aggregated accounts information
First Claim
1. A method for selectively allowing an interested party read-only access to client investment account information, the method comprising:
- receiving client account information for at least one investment accounts using a communications network;
aggregating the client account information into an account summary, wherein the account summary includes an indication of a current value of each investment account and the current total value of the combination of all investment accounts;
outputting the account summary to a client terminal in response to a client request;
maintaining a set of client permissioning settings, wherein the client permissioning settings specify a level of read-only access by one or more interested parties to discrete viewable portions of the account summary; and
outputting the discrete viewable portions of the account summary to an interested party terminal via a communications network in response to an interested party access request.

Abstract
A system and methods for aggregating data contained in multiple client accounts and reporting the aggregated account information to the client as well as to other interested parties to whom the client has granted access permission. Account information may be obtained from external sources using a network and included in the aggregated client data. In at least one embodiment, the system includes a web server for generating aggregated account data reports from account information maintained in a database and an interested party terminal for receiving aggregated account data reports. The system and methods allow a client to specify various levels of access permission for an interested party, and thereby to control the level of detail accessible by one or more interested parties using the system.

7. A method for allowing a client to specify and control the discrete viewable portions of client account information to which an interested party has read-only access using a terminal, the method comprising:
-
receiving client account information for at least one investment account using a communications network;
aggregating the client account information into an account summary, wherein the account summary includes an indication of the current value of each investment account and the current total value of the combination of all investment accounts;
maintaining a set of client permissioning settings, wherein the client permissioning settings control a level of read-only access by one or more interested third parties to discrete viewable portions of the account summary;
receiving from a client terminal a client request to modify the client permissioning settings;
modifying the client permissioning settings in response to the client request received from the client terminal;
storing the modified client permissioning settings; and
outputting the discrete viewable portions of the account summary to an interested third party terminal via a communications network in accordance with the modified client permissioning settings in response to an interested party access request.
