1. A discretely coated eyelet for use in a medical electrode, the eyelet comprising:

  • a non-metallic, conductive material having a base portion, the base portion having a bottom surface and a top surface, a post portion integral with and extending upwardly from the top surface of the base portion, the bottom surface of the base portion of the eyelet being at least partially coated with a metallic conductive material, and the remaining surface of the base portion and the post portion of the eyelet being substantially un-coated.
