Biometric control systems and associated methods of use
First Claim
1. A method for controlling access to a portion of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- receiving biometric input;
determining, based on the biometric input, if the source of the biometric input is authorized to access the portion of the vehicle;
receiving vehicle location information;
determining, based on the vehicle location information, if the vehicle is in an acceptable location to allow access to the portion of the vehicle; and
allowing access the portion of the vehicle when, based on the biometric input, the source of the biometric input is authorized to access the portion of the vehicle, and when, based on the location information, the vehicle is in an acceptable location to allow access to the portion of the vehicle.

Abstract
Methods and systems are disclosed herein for controlling various types of vehicle systems and other systems with biometric input and/or other types of input. A method for controlling access to a vehicle in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes receiving biometric input and positional input. The method further includes determining, based on the biometric input, if the source of the biometric is authorized to access the vehicle, and determining, based on the positional input, if the vehicle is in an acceptable location to allow access to the vehicle. The method additionally includes allowing access to the vehicle when, based on the biometric input, the source of the biometric input is authorized to access the vehicle, and when, based on the positional input, the vehicle is in an acceptable location to allow access to the vehicle.
