Abstract

A system and method links one or more disparate community awareness management (CAM) datasets for a community awareness program (CAP) with one or more spatial layers to create linked CAM datasets. One or more data attributes common to a CAM dataset and a spatial layer are identified, and the link is defined between the CAM dataset and the spatial layer. The spatial layer and the linked CAM dataset then may be queried using a single input query. Features from the spatial layer and features from the linked CAM dataset that match the query are generated for display. In one embodiment, a system and method manage CAP assets, transactions, interest areas for the CAP, and buffer areas for the CAP. An audience utility enables entering and maintaining audience data for the CAP. A journal utility enables making journal entries for one or more audience members, CAP assets, transactions, and/or other CAM data. A link document utility enables linking one or more documents to CAM data.

Claims

1. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP) operable with at least one processor comprising:

a data management system configured to manage storage and retrieval of geospatial data for an area associated with the CAP and feature data comprising audience data identifying at least one audience member associated with the CAP and at least one member of a group consisting of CAP asset data identifying at least one CAP asset associated with the CAP, interest area data identifying at least one interest area for the CAP asset, and buffer area data identifying at least one buffer area for the CAP asset;

a spatial management system configured to generate at least one query of the geospatial data and the feature data, to determine selected feature data corresponding to the query comprising at least one second member of a second group consisting of at least some audience data and at least some CAP asset data, to determine selected geospatial data corresponding to the query, and to generate at least one image for the selected geospatial data identifying at least a CAP area portion of the area associated with the CAP, at least one point feature in the CAP area portion identifying the at least one audience member, and at least one third member selected from a third group consisting of the at least one CAP asset, at least an interest area portion of the at least one interest area, and at least a buffer area portion of the at least one buffer area; and

a program management system configured to generate the query to the spatial management system, to receive the at least one image and the selected feature data from the spatial management system, and to generate for display the at least one image and the selected feature data.

The system of claim 1 wherein the data management system comprises other geospatial data for the area for the CAP, the spatial management system is configured to generate at least one other image comprising the other map data identifying selected other geospatial data, and the program management system is configured to accept an input corresponding to the query, the input comprising a selection on the other image.

The system of claim 1 wherein the program management system is configured to accept an input corresponding to the query, the input comprising at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of an address, a street, an intersection, a county, a zip code, a city, a state, a region, a location code, a SIC code, and a FIPS code.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein the program management system is configured to accept an input corresponding to the query, the input comprising at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of an audience type, a journal entry type, a company name, a phone number, and a contact name.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein the CAP comprises at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of:

a pipeline CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one fifth member of a fifth group consisting of pipeline asset data for at least one pipeline asset, pipeline interest area data for the at least one pipeline asset, pipeline buffer area data for the at least one pipeline asset, the audience data for the at least one audience member, journal data for at least one journal entry, document data for at least one document, pipeline audit data for the at least one pipeline asset, and pipeline location data for the at least one pipeline asset;

a call center CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one sixth member of a sixth group consisting of call center asset data for at least one call center asset, call center interest area data for the at least one call center asset, call center buffer area data for the at least one call center asset, the audience data, the journal data, the document data, call center audit data for the at least one call center asset, and call center location data for the at least one call center asset; and

a utility CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one seventh member of a seventh group consisting of utility asset data for at least one utility asset, utility interest area data for the at least one utility asset, utility buffer area data for the at least one utility asset, the audience data, the journal data, the document data, utility audit data for the at least one utility asset, and utility location data for the at least one utility asset.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein the selected feature data comprises at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of audience location data and statistic data

The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system is configured to generate the at least one image identifying at least the CAP area portion, the at least one point feature in the CAP area portion identifying the at least one audience member, the at least one CAP asset, and at least one fourth member selected from a fourth group consisting of the at least the interest area portion and the at least the buffer area portion.

8. The system of claim 1 wherein:

the feature data further comprises at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of document data identifying at least one document associated with at least one fifth member of a fifth group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset and journal data identifying at least one journal entry associated with at least one other member of the fifth group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset;

the program management system further is configured to query the data management system for corresponding cross reference data, to receive the corresponding cross reference data from the data management system, and to generate the corresponding cross reference data for display, wherein the corresponding cross reference data comprises the at least one fourth member of the fourth group consisting of the document data and the journal data; and

the data management system is configured to receive the corresponding cross reference data query, to determine the corresponding cross reference data, and to transmit the corresponding cross reference data to the program management system.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein the cross reference data consists of the journal data, and the program management system is configured to generate the journal data for display.

The system of claim 8 wherein the cross reference data consists of the document data, and the program management system is configured to generate a link for the at least one document associated with the document data and, upon receiving a selection of the link, to retrieve the at least one document from the data management system and to generate the at least one document for display.

11. The system of claim 8 wherein the cross reference data consists of the at least one document associated with the document data, and the program management system is configured to generate the at least one document for display.

12. The system of claim 1 further comprising an audience management system configured to manage audience data for the at least one audience member.

13. The system of claim 12 wherein the audience management system is configured to enable audience data entry comprising at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of entering the audience data for a new audience entry and editing the audience data.

14. The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system comprises:

a spatial processor configured to receive the query from the program management system, to query the data management system, to receive the selected geospatial data and the selected feature data, and to return the selected feature data to the program management system; and

an image processor configured to generate the at least one image to the program management system.
