Abstract

A system for controlling a motion device. A motion control system comprises a motion control device, and a first user is associated with the motion control system. An output system is arranged to generate motion signals that may be perceived by the first user. A motion server system comprises a plurality of motion scripts associated with messages to be transmitted to the first user and a motion program web page. A processing system comprises a browser program compatible with the motion program web page. A communications system transfers data between the various systems. A second user controls the server system to form a motion message corresponding to a desired motion signal based on the at least one motion script stored by the server system. The motion control system causes the output system to generate the desired motion signal based on the motion message.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a server configured to generate a plurality of scripts, said scripts configured to store one or more commands configured to perform a plurality of tasks;

a remote device configured to (i) store an identification code, (ii) receive one or more of said plurality of scripts based on said identification code, and (iii) initiate at least one of said tasks including a medical task involving motion in response to said one or more commands stored in said one or more scripts, wherein said identification code ensures that said one or more commands are intended for said remote device;

a communications network configured to transmit said one or more scripts from said server to said remote device; and

a user interface configured to receive information from a medical caregiver used by said server to generate said plurality of scripts.

2. The system according to claim 1, wherein said server includes a script generator and a script assignor.

3. The system according to claim 2, wherein said user interface is further configured to graphically display a script entry screen.

4. The system according to claim 3, wherein information relating to script generation is entered at said script entry screen.

5. The system according to claim 4, wherein said medical caregiver enters said information by providing a series of instructions at said script entry screen.

6. The system according to claim 4, wherein said medical caregiver enters said information by clicking on a set of pre-defined icons each relating to a different medical task at said script entry screen.

7. The system according to claim 2, wherein said script generator is configured to use said information to generate said plurality of scripts.

8. The system according to claim 7, wherein said script generator stores a template.

9. The system according to claim 8, wherein said information is entered into said template to generate said plurality of scripts.

10. The system according to claim 3, wherein said script entry screen is a web page on said server.

11. The system according to claim 2, wherein said script assignor is configured to assign said one or more scripts to a patient.

12. The system according to claim 11, wherein said user interface is further configured to graphically display a script assignment screen.

13. The system according to claim 12, wherein information relating to script assignment is entered at said script assignment screen.

14. The system according to claim 13, wherein said medical caregiver selects one or more patients to receive one of said plurality of scripts.

15. The system according to claim 12, wherein said script assignment screen is a web page on said server.

16. The system according to claim 1, wherein said communications network is further configured to transmit said identification code from said remote device to said server.

17. The system according to claim 16, wherein said server sends said one or more scripts to said remote device in response to receiving said identification code.

18. The system according to claim 17, wherein said server is configured to retrieve (i) a pointer to said one or more scripts from a table in response to said identification code, and (ii) said on or more scripts from a database in response to said pointer.

19. The system according to claim 1, wherein said user interface comprises one or more remote interfaces.

20. The system according to claim 1, wherein said script comprises a standard file format used on a UNIX system.

21. A system comprising:

a server configured to generate a plurality of scripts in response to information entered by a user, said scripts configured to store one or more commands configured to perform a plurality of tasks;

one or more remote devices each configured to (i) store an identification code, (ii) receive one or more of said plurality of scripts based on said identification code, and (iii) initiate at least one of said tasks including a medical task involving motion in response to said one or more commands stored in said scripts, wherein said identification codes ensure that said one or more commands are intended for said one or more remote devices;

a communications network configured to transmit said one or more scripts from said server to said one or more remote devices; and

one or more interfaces configured to receive said information, said information relating to (i) said one or more commands and (ii) an assignment of said scripts to said one or more remote devices.
