Abstract
An array of LEDs includes first and second rows of LEDs. The LEDs emit light at red, green, and blue wavelengths parallel to an output port, and the light is re-directed by a light reflecting material from directions parallel to the output port toward the output port. The first and second rows are parallel to each other, and the LEDs are powered by pulse width modulated signals that establish a brightness of the LEDs.

13. A method comprising:

directing light from a first row of LEDs primarily parallel to a projection plane defined by a housing, wherein the first row of LEDs provides a mixture of red, green, and blue light and is contained within the housing; directing light from a second row of LEDs primarily parallel to the projection plane and at a different angle from the first row of LEDs, wherein the second row of LEDs provides a mixture of red, green, and blue light, is contained within the housing, and is substantially parallel to the first row of LEDs; powering a first group of LEDs contained within the housing with a first current through the first group and a first voltage across the first group; and powering a second group of LEDs contained within the housing with a second current through the second group and a second voltage across the second group, wherein the first current is equal to the second current, and the first voltage is different from the second voltage. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23)

24. A method comprising:

shining light primarily along a first plane from each LED of a first row of LEDs, contained within a housing, primarily away from an output port of the housing; shining light primarily along a second plane from each LED of a second row of LEDs, parallel to the first row and contained within the housing, primarily away from the output port, wherein the second plane intersects the first plane; driving a first group of LEDs, including LEDs of the first row, and a second groups of LEDs, including LEDs of the first row, with first and second power signals, respectively, having equal currents and different voltages, wherein brightness of light from the first and second groups of LEDs is determined by duty cycles of waveforms of the first and second power signals, respectively; and redirecting the light from each LED of the first and second rows of LEDs toward a substantially planar target surface. - View Dependent Claims (25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32)
