Abstract

Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to an asset management computer system configured for assessing the efficiency of one or more assets, such as human employees. According to various embodiments, the asset management computer system may be configured for analyzing operational data indicative of one or more asset dynamics and segmenting the operational data into a plurality of activity segments representing periods of time classified according to asset activity. In addition, the asset management computer system may be further configured to determine one or more operational characteristics for each of said activity segments and generate a graphical representation of the activity segments.

Claims

1. An asset management computer system for assessing asset efficiency, said asset management computer system comprising:

one or more memory storage areas; and

one or more processors in communication with said one or more memory storage areas;

wherein said one or more processors are, collectively, configured to;

receive operational data indicative of one or more asset dynamics for at least one asset during one or more time periods;

segment said operational data into a plurality of activity segments, said activity segments representing periods of time classified according to asset activity; and

determine, based on said operational data, one or more operational characteristics for each of said activity segments.

2. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said processors are configured to segment said operational data such that every instance of time during said one or more time periods is classified into one or more of said activity segments.

3. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said one or more operational characteristics comprise a duration of a respective activity segment.

4. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said one or more operational characteristics comprise a description of the asset activity indicated represented by an activity segment.

5. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said one or more asset dynamics indicate the location of one or more assets;

and

wherein said activity segments are classified at least in part according to asset location.

6. The asset management computer system of claim 5, wherein said asset management computer system is configured for use as a mobile personal management system, said at least one asset comprising at least one mobile employee and said asset dynamics indicating the location of said mobile employee.

The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said asset management computer system is configured for use as a personnel work management system, said at least one asset comprising at least one employee and said asset dynamics indicating one or more tasks being performed by said employee.

8. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said one or more processors are further configured for generating a graphical representation of one or more of said activity segments.

9. The asset management computer system of claim 8, wherein said graphical representation comprises a Gantt chart depicting said activity segments.

10. The asset management computer system of claim 8, wherein said graphical representation comprises a geographical map indicating each activity segment'"'"'s location of occurrence.

11. The asset management computer system of claim 8, wherein said graphical representation of said one or more activity segments further indicates at least one of said one or more characteristics for each of said activity segments.

12. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein two or more of the periods of time represented by said activity segments are permitted to overlap.

13. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein two or more of the periods of time represented by said activity segments are permitted to overlap.

14. The asset management computer system of claim 1, wherein said processors are further configured for storing said activity segments in one or more memory storage areas, wherein each stored activity segment comprises data indicating a start time, an end time, and a segment name, said segment name being indicative of the activity represented by a respective stored activity segment.

15. The asset management computer system of claim 14, wherein each stored activity segment further comprises data indicating a date and at least one of an asset name and asset identification code.

16. The asset management computer system of claim 8, wherein said processors are configured to receive said operational data by:

receiving user input requesting retrieval of operational data relating to one or more user parameters;

retrieving certain operational data relating to said parameters and said user-selected geographical area from one or more data storage areas; and

loading said certain operational data to said one or more memory storage areas.

17. A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable instructions for:

receiving operational data indicative of one or more asset dynamics for at least one asset during one or more time periods;

segmenting said operational data into a plurality of activity segments, said activity segments representing periods of time classified according to asset activity; and

determining, based on said operational data, one or more operational characteristics for each of said activity segments.
