Abstract

A method for transmitting data between a mobile communication device and a server. The method includes running a mobile application on the mobile communication device. The mobile application is hosted on the mobile communication device through the server as a Software as a Service (SaaS). The method further includes transmitting data associated with the mobile application between the mobile communication device and the server, in which transmission of the data between the mobile communication device and the server is monitored through the server.

Claims

1. A method for purchasing a ticket using a mobile device, the method comprising:

maintaining a ticket application in a mobile device memory included in a mobile device, wherein the ticket application is preinstalled or downloaded and installed by a user on the mobile device, the ticket application including payment account information, the mobile device including a processor and a plurality of wireless interfaces each supporting a different communication protocol including a first communication channel, wherein the ticket application exchanges data with a remote server to receive authorization to execute a transaction;

receiving user input for selection of a ticket;

identifying pricing information for the ticket, wherein pricing information is associated with a service fee;

wirelessly transmitting the payment account information to the remote server using a second wireless communication channel different from the first wireless communication channel; and

receiving response information including the ticket at the mobile device from the remote server using the second wireless communication channel.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first wireless communication channel is associated with a visual display.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the second wireless communication channel is associated with a cellular radio communication channel.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the ticket application includes zooming capability.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the ticket application is available in offline mode.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the ticket is cached and available in offline mode.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein digital artifacts associated with the transaction are received using the second communication channel.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the digital artifacts include coupons.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the digital artifacts include offers.

10. The method of claim 7, wherein the digital artifacts include receipts.

11. A system for purchasing a ticket, the system comprising:

a mobile device memory configured to maintain a ticket application, wherein the ticket application is preinstalled or downloaded and installed by a user on a mobile device, the ticket application including payment account information, the mobile device including a processor and a plurality of wireless interfaces each supporting a different communication protocol including a first wireless communication channel, wherein the ticket application exchanges data with a remote server to receive authorization to execute a transaction;

a mobile device user interface configured to receive user input for selection of a ticket;

a mobile device processor configured to identify pricing information for the ticket, wherein pricing information is associated with a service fee; and

a mobile device wireless interface configured to transmit the payment account information to the remote server using a second wireless communication channel different from the first wireless communication channel, wherein the mobile device wireless interface is further configured to receive response information including the ticket at the mobile device from the remote server using the second wireless communication channel.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the first wireless communication channel is associated with a visual display.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the second wireless communication channel is associated with a cellular radio communication channel.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the ticket application includes zooming capability.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the ticket application is available in offline mode.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the ticket is cached and available in offline mode.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein digital artifacts associated with the transaction are received using the second communication channel.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the digital artifacts include coupons.

19. The system of claim 17, wherein the digital artifacts include offers.

20. The system of claim 17, wherein the digital artifacts include receipts.
