Abstract

Embodiments of the invention comprise systems, computer program products, and methods for a financial and social management system that provides improved tracking and management related to how, where, when, and with whom a user enters into activities. The financial and social management system captures activity information and images from various sources of information, including but not limited to social networking accounts, e-receipts, contact lists, stored database images, images over the Internet, and the like, and associates the activity information and images with the activities. The financial and social management system may determine images for other users associated with an activity of a first user by identifying tag users in a social networking account of the first user or contacts in a social networking account of the first user that participated in activities at the same time or locations as the activities of the first user.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a memory device having computer readable program code store thereon; and

a processing device operatively coupled to the memory device, wherein the processing device is configured to execute the computer readable program code to;

receive an indication that a first user has participated in one or more activities, wherein the one or more activities comprise at least participating in a transaction with an entity for a product using a financial account of the first user at a financial institution;

access one or more sources of images to associate with the one or more activities;

determine one or more images for the one or more activities, wherein the one or more images comprise an image associated with the entity, an image associated with the product, an image associated with a location, an image associated with a second user, or an image associated with the transaction; and

display the one or more activities with the one or more images in an activity list interface.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the entity is a second user and the transaction is a deposit in the financial account of the first user, and wherein the processing device is further configured to execute the computer readable program code to:

identify an identity of the second user from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining if the second user is a contact of the first user in the social networking account by comparing the identity of the second user with identities of contacts in the social networking account of the first user;

capturing a second user image for the second user from the social networking account of the first user; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the second user image with the activity.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the entity is a merchant, the transaction is a purchase of a product from the merchant, and the product is a good or service provided to the first user, and wherein the processing device is further configured to execute the computer readable program code to:

identify an identity of the merchant from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for merchants or accessing images for merchants over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the one or more activities from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the merchant image with the activity.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the merchant;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the activity from the website affiliated with the merchant.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing device is further configured to execute the computer readable program code to:

identify an identity of the product from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for products or accessing images for products over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a product image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the product image with the activity.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the product;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining the product image for the activity from the website affiliated with the product.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing device is further configured to execute the computer readable program code to:

identify a location of the activity from the activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for locations or accessing images for locations over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a location image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the location image with the activity.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing device is further configured to execute the computer readable program code to:

identify a location or a time period for the one or more activities;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining an image in the social networking account associated with the location or the time period of the one or more activities; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the image from the social networking account with the activity.

9. A computer program product, the computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-readable program code portions embodied therein, the computer-readable program code portions comprising:

an executable portion configured to receive an indication that a first user has participated in one or more activities, wherein the one or more activities comprise at least participating in a transaction with an entity for a product using a financial account of the first user at a financial institution;

an executable portion configured to access one or more sources of images to associate with the one or more activities;

an executable portion configured to determine one or more images for the one or more activities, wherein the one or more images comprise an image associated with the entity, an image associated with the product, an image associated with a location, an image associated with a second user, or an image associated with the transaction; and

an executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images in an activity list interface.

10. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein the entity is a second user and the transaction is a deposit in the financial account of the first user, and wherein the computer-readable program code portions further comprise:

an executable portion configured to identify an identity of the second user from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein the executable portion configured to determine the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining if the second user is a contact of the first user in the social networking account by comparing the identity of the second user with identities of contacts in the social networking account of the first user;

an executable portion configured to capture a second user image for the second user from the social networking account of the first user; and

wherein the executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the second user image with the activity.

11. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein the entity is a merchant, the transaction is a purchase of a product from the merchant, and the product is a good or service provided to the first user, and wherein the computer-readable program code portions further comprise:

an executable portion configured to identify an identity of the merchant from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for merchants or accessing images for merchants over the Internet;

wherein the executable portion configured to determine the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the one or more activities from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein the executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the merchant image with the activity.

12. The computer program product of claim 11, wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the merchant;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the activity from the website affiliated with the merchant.

13. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable program code portions further comprise:

an executable portion configured to identify an identity of the product from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for products or accessing images for products over the Internet;

wherein the executable portion configured to determine the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a product image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein the executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the product image with the activity.

14. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the product;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining the product image for the activity from the website affiliated with the product.

15. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable program code portions further comprise:

an executable portion configured to identify a location of the activity from the activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for locations or accessing images for locations over the Internet;

wherein the executable portion configured to determine the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a location image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein the executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the location image with the activity.

16. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable program code portions further comprise:

an executable portion configured to identify a location or a time period for the one or more activities;

wherein the executable portion configured to access the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein the executable portion configured to determine the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining an image in the social networking account associated with the location or the time period of the one or more activities; and

wherein the executable portion configured to display the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the image from the social networking account with the activity.

17. A method comprising:

receiving, by a processing device, an indication that a first user has participated in one or more activities, wherein the one or more activities comprise at least participating in a transaction with an entity for a product using a financial account of the first user at a financial institution;

accessing, by the processing device, one or more sources of images to associate with the one or more activities;

determining, by the processing device, one or more images for the one or more activities, wherein the one or more images comprise an image associated with the entity, an image associated with the product, an image associated with a location, an image associated with a second user, or an image associated with the transaction; and

displaying, by the processing device, the one or more activities with the one or more images in an activity list interface.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the entity is a second user and the transaction is a deposit in the financial account of the first user, and wherein the method further comprises:

identifying, by the processing device, an identity of the second user from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining if the second user is a contact of the first user in the social networking account by comparing the identity of the second user with identities of contacts in the social networking account of the first user;

capturing, by the processing device, a second user image for the second user from the social networking account of the first user; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the second user image with the activity.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein the entity is a merchant, the transaction is a purchase of a product from the merchant, and the product is a good or service provided to the first user, and wherein the method further comprises:

identify, by the processing device, an identity of the merchant from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for merchants or accessing images for merchants over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the one or more activities from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the merchant image with the activity.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the merchant;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a merchant image for the activity from the website affiliated with the merchant.

21. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

identifying, by the processing device, an identity of the product from activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for products or accessing images for products over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a product image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the product image with the activity.

22. The method of claim 21, wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a website affiliated with the product;

and wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining the product image for the activity from the website affiliated with the product.

23. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

identifying, by the processing device, a location of the activity from the activity information associated with the transaction;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a database of stored images for locations or accessing images for locations over the Internet;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining a location image for the activity from the database or from the Internet; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the location image with the activity.

24. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

identifying, by the processing device, a location or a time period for the one or more activities;

wherein accessing the one or more sources of images comprises accessing a social networking account of the first user;

wherein determining the one or more images for the one or more activities comprises determining an image in the social networking account associated with the location or the time period of the one or more activities; and

wherein displaying the one or more activities with the one or more images comprises displaying the image from the social networking account with the activity.
