Abstract

Features are described for efficiently and accurately provisioning content to a mobile device with limited user interaction. The features include storing a content identifier for a content element and a publication rule for the content element in a data storage device, the publication rule identifying a user to whom the content element can be provided. The features include receiving, from a mobile device, a message including the content identifier and an identifier of the mobile device. The features include querying a user data store based at least in part on the identifier to obtain user information associated with the mobile device. The features include determining that mobile device is eligible to receive the content element. The features include generating content for the mobile device based at least in part on the user information and the content element and causing display of the same via the mobile device.

Claims

1. A method of providing location based content, the method comprising:

storing, by an alert system having one or more computer processors and a data storage device, data associated with a content offer from a content provider, the data including content offer behavior criteria indicating user values for a user that are required to provide the associated content offer;

receiving, from a mobile device detection system comprising a plurality of sensors configured to detect mobile devices within a geographic area, a mobile device identifier of a mobile device identified within the geographic area;

receiving, from a service provider associated with the mobile device, at least a first name and a last name of the user that is determined based at least in part on;

(i) the mobile device identifier and user data stored by the service provider; and

transmitting a message to the mobile device, the message including a link configured to launch another application on the mobile device, the another application configured to;

obtain a portion of a social security number or postal code of the user, and

transmit the portion of the social security number or postal code to the alert system;

determining, based at least on the first name, last name, and the portion of the social security number or postal code, a confidence level that a single user record of a risk scoring entity is associated with the user;

in response to determining that the confidence level is less than a threshold for providing the content offer, transmitting instructions to the mobile device to request one or more additional identification items from the user; and

in response to determining that the confidence level is more than the threshold for providing the content offer;

accessing the single user record of the risk scoring entity,

determining that values included in the single user record satisfy the content offer behavior criteria, and

transmitting to the mobile device, the content offer, wherein the content offer includes at least a link that redirects the mobile device to content provided by the content provider allowing the user to apply for acceptance of the content offer.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving location information for the mobile device, the location information identifying a set of locations where the mobile device was detected and, for respective locations, times when the mobile device was detected at the respective locations; and

wherein the at least the first name and the last name of the user is further determined based at least in part on the location information.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving location information for the mobile device, the location information identifying a set of locations where the mobile device was detected and, for respective locations, times when the mobile device was detected at the respective locations; and

wherein determining the confidence level is further based at least in part on proximity of the geographic area to at least one location included in the set of locations.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising

retrieving a content offer template associated with the content offer, wherein the content offer template includes an identity data field for an identity data type;

generating the content offer by including a value from the single user record of the identity data type in the identity data field of the content offer template.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving location update message including the mobile device identifier and indicating a current location of the mobile device; and

wherein determining that values included in the single user record satisfy the content offer behavior criteria comprises determining the current location is within a threshold distance to location identified in the content offer behavior criteria.

6. A computer-implemented method comprising:

under control of one or more computing devices configured with specific computer-executable instructions,

storing a content identifier for a content element and a publication rule for the content element in a data storage device, the publication rule identifying a user to whom the content element can be provided;

receiving, from a mobile device, a message including the content identifier and a mobile device identifier of the mobile device;

querying a user data store based at least in part on the mobile device identifier to obtain user information associated with the mobile device;

determining, based at least in part on a comparison of the user information with the publication rule, that mobile device is eligible to receive the content element;

generating content for the mobile device based at least in part on the user information and the content element; and

causing display of the content via the mobile device.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein receiving the message comprises receiving a text message from the mobile device including a keyword, and wherein generating the content comprises retrieving a content template based at least in part on the keyword.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7, wherein the content template includes an identity data field for an identity data type, and wherein generating the content comprises including an identity data value of the identity data type from the user information.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, further comprising receiving a location update message for the mobile device, wherein the location update message includes the mobile device identifier and indicating a current location of the mobile device, and wherein the content identifier comprises location information for the current location.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9, wherein determining that the mobile device is eligible to receive the content element comprises determining that a location identified in the location update message corresponds to location information associated with the content element.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein determining that the mobile device is eligible to receive the content element further comprises determining that a previous location identified in a previous location update message received at a time before the location update message corresponds to the location information associated with the content element.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, further comprising:

identifying a set of candidate users;

generating a set of questions to uniquely identify each user included in the set of candidate users;

transmitting the set of questions to the mobile device;

receiving responses to the set of questions; and

identifying the user based on the responses, wherein the user data store is queried based at least in part on the responses.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 12, wherein the set of questions is generated based on a security level of the content element, wherein a first location based content element having a higher security level than a second location based content element includes a question for non-publicly available information about the user.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein causing display of the content comprises transmitting to the mobile device, a content offer, wherein the content offer includes at least a link that redirects the mobile device to content provided by the content provider allowing the user to apply for acceptance of the content offer.

15. A system comprising:

a computer-readable memory storing executable instructions; and

one or more computer processors in communication with the computer-readable memory, wherein the one or more computer processors are configured to execute the executable instructions to at least;

store a content identifier for a content element and a publication rule for the content element in a data storage device, the publication rule identifying a user to whom the content element can be provided;

receive, from a communication device, a message including a device identifier of the communication device;

query a user data store based at least in part on the device identifier to obtain user information associated with the mobile device;

determine, based at least in part on a comparison of the user information with the publication rule, that communication device is eligible to receive the content element;

generate content for the communication device based at least in part on the user information and the content element; and

cause display of the content via the communication device.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein receiving the message comprises receiving a text message from the communication device including a keyword, and wherein generating the content comprises retrieving a content template based at least in part on the keyword.

17. The system of claim 16, wherein the content template includes an identity data field for an identity data type, and wherein generating the content comprises including an identity data value of the identity data type from the user information.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the one or more computer processors are further configured to execute the executable instructions to at least further receive a location update message for the communication device, wherein the location update message includes the device identifier and indicating a current location of the communication device, and wherein the content identifier comprises location information for the current location.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein determining that the communication device is eligible to receive the content element comprises determining that a location identified in the location update message corresponds to location information associated with the content element.

20. The system of claim 15, wherein the one or more computer processors are further configured to:

identify a set of candidate users;

generate a set of questions to uniquely identify each user included in the set of the candidate users;

transmit the set of questions to the mobile device;

receive responses to the set of questions; and

identify the user based on the responses, wherein the user data store is queried based at least in part on the responses.
