1. A method of treating a wound comprising contacting the wound with a composition comprising human placental extracellular matrix, wherein said human placental extracellular matrix comprises:

  • (i) placental collagen that comprises between 74% and 90% Type I collagen, between 4% to 6% Type III collagen, and between 2% to 15% type IV collagen, (ii) no detectable amounts of fibronectin or laminin, and (iii) additional extracellular matrix components selected from the following groups;

    (a) 4.7% elastin by dry weight and 0.28% glycosaminoglycans by dry weight;

    (b) 3.2% elastin by dry weight and 0.34% glycosaminoglycans by dry weight;

    (c) 4.4% elastin by dry weight and 0.38% glycosaminoglycans by dry weight; and

    (d) 3.5% elastin by dry weight and 0.59% glycosaminoglycans by dry weight.
