Software Rights Archive Sues Facebook

August 1, 2012

Software Rights Archive [NPE] filed suit against Facebook.  The complaint is currently unavailable.  Software Rights Archive has filed four prior suits since November 2007 against AOL, Google, IAC Search & Media, LinkedIn, Lycos, Microsoft, Twitter, and Yahoo.  In July 2008, AOL, Google, IAC, and Yahoo filed a motion to compel discovery as to Software Rights Archive’s ownership structure and the identity of its controlling stakeholder.  According to the motion, “Corporate information about Altitude Capital, the ultimate entity that appears to control both Software Rights Archive and SRA, is also highly relevant to personal jurisdiction over Software Rights Archive.”  7/27, Northern District of California, assigned to Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler, 3:2012cv03970.
