TQP Development Sues Fiserv, Skype, Sony, and Three Others

TQP Development [NPE] filed six separate suits against Consumer Cellular, Fiserv, HomeAway, Skype, Sony, and Virgin Mobile, alleging that the defendants’ websites infringe a patent related to encrypted data transmission.  TQP, founded by Erich Spangenberg, has filed over 40 previous suits since December 2008 against over 100 defendants including Dell, Google, LinkedIn, and Salesforce. More than 30 suits of those suits were filed in 2012 alone.  The patent-in-suit originated with Telequip and was assigned to The PACid Group in August 2008, just months before The PACid Group changed its name to TQP Development.  4/9, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00195; 2:2012cv00196; 2:2012cv00198; 2:2012cv00199; 2:2012cv00200; 2:2012cv00201.
