Global Interactive’s Broadcast Listings Campaign Hits Comcast, Discovery, and Yahoo

Global Interactive Media, Inc. has added three more defendants to its broadcast listings campaign, suing Comcast (1:16-cv-04677), Discovery Communications (1:16-cv-04678), and Yahoo (1:16-cv-04679) in Illinois. Global Interactive has asserted three patents in this campaign (6,314,577; 7,574,721; 8,032,907). The patents generally relate to requesting and receiving metadata about broadcast programs, and audio and/or video programming providers have been accused of infringement through online provision of broadcast listings. All three patents are asserted against Comcast and Discovery, while only the ‘577 and ‘907 patents are asserted against Yahoo.
