Earlier this year, RPX flagged the formation of Columbia Peak Ventures LLC as a potential sign of litigation to come from Dominion Harbor Enterprises, LLC—a patent monetization and advisory firm that has launched (through various controlled plaintiffs) roughly 40 US campaigns to date. In recent years, Dominion plaintiffs have litigated patents originating with American Express, Kodak, NEC, or Panasonic, among others; now, with USPTO data reflecting multiple June 2021 assignments to the NPE from a Chinese multi-national electronics company, more Dominion-controlled litigation over former operating company patents appears imminent.
