Meta Platforms Sued by Taiwanese Plaintiff over Content Creation Tools

Inventor-controlled Taiwanese plaintiff Laixion Network Technology Ltd. has filed its first litigation, suing Meta Platforms (f/k/a Facebook) (Instagram) (6:24-cv-00148) in the Western District of Texas. The plaintiff asserts a single patent broadly directed to a “data sharing system”, with Meta Platforms accused of infringement through the provision of the Facebook and Instagram platforms. The exemplary accused feature is the Instagram “Collabs” feature, which “enables users to collaboratively create content.”
