Clear Imaging Research Strikes Again
New Patent Litigation
A month after suing Alphabet (Google), Clear Imaging Research, LLC has hit Lenovo (2:25-cv-00240) over the provision of features related to image/video capture, processing, and stabilization in various Lenovo- and Motorola-branded laptops, smartphones, and tablets. The plaintiff pleads that the alleged infringement has been willful, contending that it sent a notice letter to Lenovo as early as May 2021. The parties “exchanged additional correspondence”, per the Eastern District of Texas complaint, but Lenovo “largely ceased communications” with Clear Imaging in November 2022.

New Patent Litigation
Clear Imaging Research, LLC has come back to the courts, this time suing Alphabet (Google) (3:25-cv-00221). Inventor-Controlled Plaintiff Clarifies Ownership of Patents, Sues Apple
New Patent Litigation

The inventor-controlled plaintiff has now returned to litigation, this time suing Apple (3:23-cv-00673) in the Southern District of California over patents from the same large family, all generally related to image capture and processing. Samsung challenged the rights held by Clear Imaging Research in the patents that it asserted there; two additional assignments have since been recorded with the USPTO to—“[f]or the avoidance of doubt”—clarify that Clear Imaging Research owns all right, title, and interest in family of patents, including “all rights to sue and collect for past damages”.
