AT&T and Cable One Targeted over Advertisement Tools

After initiating its sole litigation campaign with separate cases filed last month against Frontier Communications and Verizon, Interactive Media Networks LLC (IMN) has now added suits against AT&T (4:22-cv-00704) and Cable One (4:22-cv-00703), again brought in the Eastern District of Texas. The plaintiff asserts a pair of patents broadly directed to delivering advertisements over a network, with the defendants accused of infringement through the provision of solutions including TV set-top boxes that allegedly “receive content information from advertisers through an advertising interface and distribute those advertisements to users”.

Interactive Media Networks Targets Advertisement Tools in First Litigation Campaign

Interactive Media Networks LLC (IMN) has kicked off its first campaign with suits in the Eastern District of Texas against Frontier Communications (4:22-cv-00613) and Verizon (Cellco Partnership) (4:22-cv-00611). The plaintiff asserts a single patent broadly directed to delivering advertisements over a network, with the defendants accused of infringement through the provision of TV set-top boxes that allegedly “receive content information from advertisers through an advertising interface and distribute those advertisements to users”.

Comserve Solutions Launches Its First Campaign with a Suit Against VMware

Delaware NPE Comserve Solutions LLC has filed its first litigation, over a family of two patents generally related to upgrading a mainframe computer system’s operating system (OS). The plaintiff accuses Dell (VMware) (1:21-cv-02196) of infringement through the provision of the VMware vSphere server virtualization software, with features for installing OS updates on virtual machines at issue.

More Mitsubishi Electric Patents Land in NPE Hands

Earlier this month, IPValue Management, Inc. (d/b/a IPValue) announced that it had acquired over 1,200 patent assets from the display business unit of Mitsubishi Electric. While that transaction is not yet reflected in currently available USPTO records, the recordation of another recent Mitsubishi Electric divestment to an NPE has just cropped up among assignment data. Meanwhile, Arigna Technology Limited, a hedge fund-backed NPE under the Atlantic IP Services Limited umbrella, has taken one of its multiple campaigns asserting former Mitsubishi Electric patents to the International Trade Commission (ITC).
