Uniloc [NPE] filed 10 separate suits against Distinctive Developments, Electronic Arts, Full Fat Productions, Gameloft, Halfbrick Studios, Laminar Research, Madfinger Games, Mojang AB, Polarbit AB, and Square Enix, alleging that the defendants’ Android based applications infringe a patent related to checking license status with a registration authority. Uniloc has filed over 20 prior suits since September 2003 against over 80 defendants, including Activision Blizzard, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony, and Texas Instruments.
