International License Exchange of America, LLC (ILEA) has added its first 2017 cases to its campaign begun last year, suing Ericsson (1:17-cv-00507) and NTT (1:17-cv-00508). The new complaints assert one patent already at issue in the campaign (RE40,999) and another at issue for the first time (5,959,990). The ‘990 patent is the earliest-issuing member of a family of 11 former Nortel virtual networking patents, a family that includes the ‘999 patent. The accused products include, for Ericsson, Ethernet switches and switching platforms, along with VoIP and IP phones and, for NTT, various networks, network services, and related hardware related to Ethernet and VoIP. ILEA is an affiliate of Equitable IP Corporation.
