RPX took note of several patent asset transfers to NPEs recorded during the second half of December 2016. Assignees included Texas NPE Synergy Drone LLC, Nevada NPE Jonker LLC, and Delaware NPE Empire Technology Development LLC, and the named inventors on the different patent assets form an eclectic bunch.

Enhanced Audio Systems, LLC (EAS) has added three more lawsuits, one each against Fujitsu (1:17-cv-00006), HP (1:17-cv-00007), and Lenovo (1:17-cv-00008), to the campaign it started before the new year with a single case against Toshiba (1:16-cv-01329). The new complaints again assert a single patent (6,374,148), generally related to audio systems for portable PCs, and accuse the defendants of infringement through the manufacture and sale of laptops and docking stations. Enhanced Audio Systems, LLC (EAS) has filed a lawsuit against Toshiba (1:16-cv-01329), asserting a single patent (6,374,148) generally related to audio systems for portable PCs. The complaint accuses Toshiba of infringement through the manufacture and sale of laptop computers and docking stations. EAS is an apparent affiliate of Equitable IP Corporation, this latest suit marking the third campaign that the NPE has launched asserting patents received from Intellectual Ventures LLC in an August 31, 2016 transaction.
